IBPS Clerk Eligibility Details: Institute of Banking Personnel
Selection (IBPS) conducts Common Written Examination (CWE) for the recruitment
of Clerical Cadre vacancies which was approved by public sector banks. The
candidates who are attempting the common written exam must have the specified
age and necessary educational qualification. The following are the eligibility
details.
Eligibility Criteria:
I. Nationality/Citizenship:
A candidate must be either -
(i) a Citizen of India or
(ii) a subject of Nepal or
(iii) a subject of Bhutan or
(iv) a Tibetan Refugee who came over to India before 1st January 1962 with the intention of permanently
settling in India or
(v) a person of Indian origin who has migrated from Pakistan, Burma, Sri Lanka, East African countries of Kenya, Uganda, the United Republic of Tanzania (formerly Tanganyika and Zanzibar), Zambia, Malawi, Zaire, Ethiopia and Vietnam with the intention of permanently settling in India,
provided that a candidate belonging to categories (ii), (iii), (iv) & (v) above shall be a person in whose favour a certificate of eligibility has been issued by the Government of India.
A candidate must be either -

III. Educational Qualification:
A Degree (Graduation) in any discipline from a University recognized by
the Govt. Of India or any equivalent qualification recognized as such by the
Central Government.
Computer Literacy: Operating and working knowledge in computer systems is mandatory i.e. candidates should have Certificate/Diploma/Degree in computer operations/Language/ should have studied Computer / Information Technology as one of the subjects in the High School/College/Institute.
Proficiency in the Official Language of the State/ UT (candidates should
know how to read/ write and speak the Official Language of the State/UT) for
which vacancies a candidate wishes to apply is preferable. (Some questions may
be put at the time of interview to ascertain the candidate’s familiarity with
the Official Language of the State/UT).Ex-servicemen who do not possess the above civil examination
qualifications should be matriculate Ex-servicemen who have obtained the Army
Special Certificate of Educating or corresponding certificate in the Navy or
Air Force after having completed not less than 15 years of service in the Armed
Forces of the union as on 01-09-2014. Such certificates should be dated on or
before 01-09-2014.

Penalty
for Wrong Answers:
There will be penalty for wrong answers marked in the Objective Tests. For each question for which a wrong answer has been given by the candidate one fourth or 0.25 of the marks assigned to that question will be deducted as penalty to arrive at corrected score. If a question is left blank, i.e. no answer is marked by the candidate; there will be no penalty for that question.

Scores: The corrected scores obtained by each of the candidates in
different sessions (if held) will be normalized using equip percentile method.
Cutoff Score: Each candidate will be required to obtain a minimum score in each
test and also a minimum total score to be considered to be shortlisted for
interview. Depending on number of the State/ UT wise vacancies available,
cutoffs will be decided and candidates will be shortlisted for interview. Prior
to the completion of the interview process, scores obtained in the online
examination will not be shared with the candidates shortlisted for interview.
IBPS Clerical Cadre Selection Process
Institute of Banking Personnel Selection (IBPS) conducts Common Written
Examination (CWE) for selection of Clerical Cadre vacancies in the Public
Sector Banks. IBPS clerical cadre selection process details are given below….
Selection Process: The selection process will be carried out in
two stages, the first one is Common Written Examination and second stage is
Common Interviews conducted by IBPS.
1. Common Written Examination: Institute of Banking Personnel
Selection (IBPS) conducts Online Exam for Clerical Cadre posts. Total marks are
200 in a duration of 2 hours for objective type questions. All the tests except
the Test of English Language will be available bilingually, i.e. English and
Hindi. Each candidate will have to secure a minimum score in each test and also
on total to be considered to be called for interview.
2. Common Interviews: Candidates who have been
shortlisted in the examination for CWE Clerks-IV will subsequently be called
for an Interview to be conducted by the Participating Organizations and
coordinated by the Nodal Bank in each State/ UT with the help of IBPS.
Interviews will be conducted at select centres. The total marks allotted for
Interview are 100. The minimum qualifying marks in interview will not be less
than 40% (35% for SC/ ST/ OBC/ PWD/ EXSM candidates). The weightage (ratio) of
CWE (exam) and interview will be 80:20 respectively. The combined final score
of candidates shall be arrived at on the basis of scores obtained by the
candidates in CWE Clerks- IV and Interview.
A candidate should qualify both in the CWE and interview and be
sufficiently high in the merit to be shortlisted for subsequent provisional
allotment process, details of which will be made available subsequently on IBPS
website.

What is IBPS PO exam?
IBPS PO exam is conducted by the Institute for Banking Personnel
Selection (IBPS) to select eligible candidates for the post of Probationary
Officers (PO) in various public sector banks. The number of public sector banks
where successful candidates may get allocated amounts to roughly 20. Set up by
the banking industry, IBPS was launched in 1975 and became an independent
entity in 1984. Today, IBPS is a prestigious institute that has complete
control over the recruitment, placement and promotion of candidates at public
sector banks. It is mandatory for candidates to take the examinations conducted
by IBPS to secure a great future in public sector banks.

The Common Written Exam was introduced by IBPS in 2011 for the selection
of officers and clerks in the banks. The test is of 200 marks and will cover

Initially, the participating banks conducted the common interview. But
since 2012, IBPS has taken up the responsibility to arrange the common
interview at various locations. Post which, they will prepare a list of the
meritorious candidates, which the banks will then refer to for the recruitment

Total marks of test will be 200 divided into 5 subjects like as
reasoning, English language, quantitative aptitude, general awareness and
Computer Knowledge. The duration for the exam is of 2 hours.
Negative Marks: The penalty of 0.25 marks will be levied, if any wrong answer has been
given. The candidates are advised that they must ensure about the correct
answer while marking the answer. In other case if candidate does not attempt
the question and left black it, no wrong penalty will be applicable.
Minimum Cut Off Marks: The candidates must score a minimum
marks or score in each of the paper to apply for the vacancies in participating
banks. The minimum cut off marks will be 24 (Gen. Category) and 21 (for
reserved category).
Interview : After getting the
position in the list of shortlist of the candidates for CWE PO -III, the
particular organisation will be called for the interview. The total marks for
interview are 100. The marks should not be less than 40% to qualify the
interview. The weightage ration of CWE Exam and interview should be 80:20.

Preparation”
Reasoning: This tests your power of observation and mental ability. As this section
has the one of the highest allocation of marks, try to practice it thoroughly.
This is also a section where you can get good scores. While you are preparing
for this section, concentrate on solving a lot of problems like mirror images
and problems that involve figures.
Quantitative AptitudeThis section tests a person's mathematical ability. It covers areas like
probability, time and distance, mensuration, profit and loss, number system,
fractions and the like. To prepare for this section, practice as many sums as
possible. Try to learn multiplication tables by heart. Also try to solve
questions by using mental tricks. Practice, practice and more practice is the
key to achieving good scores here.
General Awareness:This is also a scoring section. Usually 75% of the questions are related
to the banking field, while 25% is allocated to current affairs. To score good
marks, keep yourself abreast with the current banking policies, various changes
they may have undergone, the causes, the impact the policy changes had on the
economic situation of the country, and the like. You can also refer to the last
Budget that was presented and the present economic scenario of the country.
Apart from this, keep yourself updated with latest happenings in the field of
science, history, geography, and other areas. Reading newspapers and watching
news on TV regularly will also help you prepare for this section.
English language:This section is usually taken for granted and candidates end up not
putting in too many hours of practice. However, it is important that they come
fully prepared for this section, after all it is for 40 marks. The test will
check the candidate's command over the language. To prepare, one can start
reading English newspapers regularly, learn a couple of new words every day,
note down the antonyms and synonyms of words, practice comprehension, and watch
English news on a regular basis. Apart from this, one can learn and practice
grammar. There are online grammar tests too that you can take
Computer knowledge: This is usually an easy section and is based on simple applications. If
you know the basics of computers and the working of MS Windows and MS Office,
you will be able to score decent marks in this section. You may also choose to
refer to basic NCERT Computer books.
Time management: Learn to manage time effectively. When you are taking the
exam, divide your time in such a manner that you are able to attempt all the
questions. Have a clear plan in mind before you walk into the examination hall.
In the hall, you just need to execute the plan. It may seem difficult to answer
200 questions in 120 minutes, but with a little bit of smartness and practice,
you can give it a shot.
Regular reading: If you aspire to make a career in a public sector bank, make it a habit

Criteria: Institute of Banking Personnel Selection (IBPS) will be conducting
Common Written Test (CWE) for Regional Rural Banks (RRBs). Candidates to gain
eligibility to appear for IBPS CWE must satisfy the below given eligibility
criteria to apply for Officer Vacancies.

language and Computer knowledge or awareness will be an added qualification.
Preference will be given to the candidates having degree in Agriculture,
Horticulture, Forestry, Animal Husbandry, Veterinary Science, Agricultural
Engineering, Pisciculture, Agricultural Marketing and Cooperation, Information
Technology, Management, Law, Economics and Accountancy
B. For Officer Scale II (General Banking Officer): Degree in any
discipline from a recognized University or its equivalent with a minimum of 50%
marks in aggregate. Preference will be given to the candidates having degree in
Banking, Finance, Marketing, Agriculture, Horticulture, Forestry, Animal Husbandry,
Veterinary Science, Agricultural Engineering, Pisciculture, Agricultural
Marketing and Cooperation, Information Technology, Management, Law, Economics
and Accountancy.
Experience: Two years as an officer in a Bank or Financial Institution.
C. For Officer Scale II (Specialist Officer):
(i). Information Technology Officer: Degree from a recognised
University in Electronics / Communication / Computer Science / Information
Technology or its equivalent with a minimum of 50% marks in aggregate.
Desirable: Certificate in ASP, PHP, C++, Java, VB, VC, OCP etc.

Language Proficiency - The candidates applying for the
posts of Officer Scale I and Office Assistants –(Multipurpose) in any
particular RRB or RRBs are required to possess proficiency in the local
language of the State / UT in which the RRB is situated to be eligible for
interview, as per the notification of the concerned RRB (The condition does not
apply for the posts of Officer Scale II and III). For ensuring proficiency in
local language, the candidate should have –

i.e. Interview etc.
IBPS Specialist Officers Eligibility Details: Institute of
Banking Personnel Selection (IBPS) conducts Common Written Examination (CWE)
for the recruitment of Specialist Officers in various cadres like IT,
Agriculture, Legal, Marketing, HR and Rajbhasha Adhikari in various public
sector banks. Candidates, intending to apply for CWE SPL-III should ensure that
they fulfil the minimum eligibility criteria specified by IBPS.
Eligibility Criteria:
Nationality/Citizenship: A candidate must be either -
(i) a Citizen of India or
(ii) a subject of Nepal or
(iii) a subject of Bhutan or
(iv) a Tibetan Refugee who came over to India before 1st January 1962 with the intention of
permanently settling in India or
(v) a person of Indian origin who has migrated from Pakistan, Burma, Sri Lanka, East Africancountries of Kenya, Uganda, the United Republic of Tanzania (formerly Tanganyika andZanzibar), Zambia, Malawi, Zaire, Ethiopia and Vietnam with the intention of permanentlysettling in India,
provided that a candidate belonging to categories (ii), (iii), (iv) & (v) above shall be a person inwhose favour a certificate of eligibility has been issued by the Government of India.

Exam Pattern: The structure of the Written Examination will be conducted in
Online Mode as follows…
1. All the Tests will be in Objective Type & is printed in Bilingual
Format, except for English Paper.
2. The Specialist Officers Common Written Examination consists of 200
Objective Type Questions, each question carries one mark totally 200 marks and
the time duration is 120 minutes.

5. Negative Marking: There will be penalty for wrong answers marked in the Objective Tests. For each question for which a wrong answer has been given by the candidate one fourth or 0.25 of the marks assigned to that question will be deducted as penalty to arrive at corrected score. If a question is left blank, i.e. no answer is marked by the candidate, there will be no penalty for that question.
6. Cutoff Score: Each candidate will have to secure a
minimum score in each test and also on total to be considered to be called for
interview. Mere passing in individual tests may not be sufficient as candidates
should also score sufficiently high on Total in order of merit to be called for
interview.
7. Scores: The corrected scores obtained by each
of the candidates in different sessions (if held) will be normalized using
equipercentile method.
